You've found an offer you like. Good commission, product you'd actually recommend.
Before you write a word about it, look at three numbers. Together they answer the only question that matters at this stage: can this offer still pay me?
It takes about ten seconds.
The 3 numbers
1. Remaining, not deposited
The big figure on every offer is what's STILL locked. Money already paid out to other affiliates isn't counted.
Why it matters: an offer that deposited a large budget months ago might have very little left today. The deposit tells you about the past. The remaining balance tells you about your payout.
2. Commission per conversion
This is what one confirmed conversion pays. On its own it's just a rate. Next to the balance, it becomes useful.
3. Payouts it can still fund
Divide the remaining balance by the commission. That's how many conversions the offer can pay for right now.
Quick example: $340 left at $24 per conversion funds 14 more payouts. A high commission with a small balance might only fund a handful.
What the colors mean
You don't have to do the math every time. The meter does it for you.
- Lime: funded. Plenty left.
- Orange: nearly spent. The balance has dropped to a tenth of its deposit.
- "Cannot pay out": the balance can't cover one more conversion, so the offer stops handing out links.
2 quick tips
Check before every campaign, not just the first
Balances fall as other affiliates get paid. Top-ups are the advertiser's choice. So a healthy offer last month might be nearly spent today.
Match your effort to the balance
A balance that funds five payouts doesn't justify a month of content. One that funds forty might. Let the number set your ambition.
Final thoughts
Three numbers, ten seconds, and you know whether an offer can pay.
It's the check most programs never let you make. Use it every time.
